Earthtone Solutions was established by Tom Italo in 2003. Our focus from the beginning was environmental. Back then Earthtone helped local organizations recycle printer cartridges as a way to help them raise funds and protect the environment.

As the company grew, we developed a strong internet program to attract recyclers nationwide. 2005 was a pivotal year as we reached agreement with CURE Childhood Cancer.

The partnership with CURE is rooted in Mr Italo's personal battle with childhood cancer over 30 years ago. Studies have shown that cancers of all types can be triggered by cellular mutations, which in many cases have strong environmental influences. In Mr Italo's case, there was no history of thyroid cancer in his family. "My thinking was, there's got to be a reason why this happened, and all the studies kept coming back to environmental influences."

In early 2005 Mr Italo began searching for an reputable pediatric cancer organization to partner up with. The search lead to CURE Childhood Cancer, an Atlanta based pediatric cancer research and support program with a stellar reputation, and long track record. With the help of CURE's former managing director David Lee, the CURE Recycling program was forged. As Earthtone grows, so does it's commitment to CURE.
